Who We Are
Rachel started Satin Studios in 2011 after taking a bunch of her girlfriends out into the desert to play in the sand with the camera. What emerged was a series of photos her friends couldn't stop talking about.
They felt so beautiful and kept saying things like, "I can't believe that's me!" The feeling was contagious and she had so much fun making her friends feel awesome that she turned it into a business. Years later, Satin Studios is still making women feel great about themselves every day.
When not taking photographs, she loves snowboarding and playing outside with her dog.

Suma was a key collaborator of the viral #dropthetowel hashtag and was also named one of the Top 30 Women of 2015 for “Wear Your Voice,” as well as being featured in a profile of the Top 15 Body Positive Artists of 2015 in Bustle.
Jennifer is a licensed hair stylist and esthetician who loves styling up-dos and soft, sexy curls, as well as creating retro looks like Betty Page and Vargas girls.
She has styled hair and makeup for weddings, and worked behind the chair as a hairdresser at various salons including Salon De Donato and Strut Salon. 'One of the best parts of doing boudoir shoots is translating the photos and descriptions the clients bring in, and working with their hair and skin type to create that vision.'
When Jennifer is not styling hair, she loves playing cello, spending time with her husband Jesse and being a mom for two great boys.
Kathy graduated from the Aveda Institute in Seattle, WA and has worked as a beauty advisor for Dosha Salon and as a Smashbox Makeup consultant. Her favorite part of doing hair and makeup is watching how happy and confident it makes her clients.
"I love the beauty industry and especially doing makeup for boudoir sessions. It has been an incredible experience for me watching the way it changes the way that women look at themselves and how excited they get when we're all finished."
In her free time, Kathy likes to hang out with friends and plan backpacking trips.
